Description
DrawChat is a highly engaging app that lets you draw and chat. It’s fun to take a photo, draw on it, and send it to your friend.
DrawChat has been featured in the App Store alongside Evernote and Clear, and has appeared in TechCrunch and GigaOm.
After our initial success with DrawChat, the team decided to sell the app and focus on a different idea that’s in a different space.
DrawChat was developed by Gabor Cselle, Jeremy Orlow and Chloe Bregman in San Francisco at Founders Den.
As part of the package, you’ll get 2 days of Gabor’s and Jeremy’s time to teach you how to take over the app. (If you want Chloe to help out as well, it’ll cost $800/day.)
Why you Should buy DrawChat
- You’ll get 2 days of the Gabor’s and Jeremy’s time to teach you how to take over the app. If you want Chloe to help out as well, it’ll cost $800/day. If you want extra days from Gabor and Jeremy, we can negotiate that separately.
- Our time alone is worth it - both of us are former Google Software Engineers. Gabor’s last job was working on the Android OS as a Product Manager. Experienced iOS developers can easily cost $200/hour.
- If you’re in the San Francisco Bay Area, we can come to your office. Otherwise, we can work remotely or fly out to you if you pay fare and accommodation.
- If you’re developing a drawing, chatting, or social app of any kind, this is a great starting point.
- Our drawing engine is pretty sophisticated with backgrounds, eraser, zoom, and undo, and you can repurpose it to build different apps as well.
- We’re using Parse, Twilio, Heroku, and Pusher - if you’re building an app that combines these technologies, DrawChat is a great place to start.
- DrawChat cost $44k to develop and you’re likely to pay less than that.
DrawChat Stack
- iOS 5.0+ / XCode / Objective-C for the app itself
- Parse as data store
- Heroku to perform phone number validation
- Twilio for sending and receiving SMS
- Pusher for real-time chat updates.
- Tumblr for our promotional website at www.drawchat.me
- As of November 14, 2012, the app has seen 6412 users according to our Flurry stats
DrawChat Terms
- You take over the app, our iTunes developer account, the source code, the accounts, the domain drawchat.me, and our Twitter account @DrawChat.
- You take over responsibility to pay all the subscriptions for the app: We’re currently in the free tier on Heroku and Parse. Pusher is $19/month, and our Twilio bill depends on how many people sign up and from which countries - so far we’ve spent $120 on Twilio.
